Impractical Plates.

Sculpture Installation

Impractical Plates is a sculpture installation that portrays the impractical practice of dieting. The drilled holes represent data I’ve collected from a dieting app called “Kurbo,” which targets children 8-13 to monitor and restrict their diets by correlating food with red, yellow, and green dots. For an app to target such a young and impressionable audience is incredibly toxic and, all and all, an impractical way of managing appropriate nutrition.
